S.E. Design is a home furnishings company that hand makes outdoor furniture and spa-inspired home accessories. Sabrina is the principle designer & furniture maker of SE Design. She blends her formal educational training in woodworking and interior design together to create her pieces.

Sabrina’s unique outdoor furniture design is inspired by the idea of having hotel and spa-like elements in your own backyard, rooftop deck or boathouse dock.   

The outdoor furniture line is built from the finest Canadian cedar. Cedar wood is naturally resistant to insect damage, decay and weather, which make it ideal for outdoor furniture. Cedar also has a very high strength to weight ratio, which means it is durable as well as light enough to move around. Cedar’s natural color ranges from creamy white, pale to dark tan, light gold or sienna brown. To preserve these rich, warm tones each piece is protected with an exterior grade sealant. Otherwise, if cedar is left unfinished in the elements, it will develop a weathered, silvery gray patina.

When working with Cedar, Sabrina also extended her design concept to the home spa. The trends in home building have lead to luxurious home bathrooms designed with relaxation and Zen-like qualities in mind. Many people want to re-create a sauna type environment in their shower. By simply placing an unfinished cedar shower bench in ones shower, the steam enhances the natural fragrance of the wood and makes for a wonderful aromatherapy experience. These pieces are stand-alone and can be used elsewhere in the bathroom or other spaces when not used in the shower. Footrests are also available when wanting to recline back or shave one’s legs comfortably. The same footrests can be used alternatively as a storage basket for your shower products.
